**New Artist in Residence** Veridiana Zurita

Veridiana Zurita began studying Classical Ballet at the Royal Dance Academy in São Paulo, Brazil. After her initial training she moved on to study Communications on Body Art Performance and Dance at the University of São Paulo, where she developed a highly individualized artistic practice utilizing various aspects of performance, video, and dance. Since 2008, she has been based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and in 2010, she completed a Master in Fine Art at The Dutch Art Institute. Zurita’s work has been shown throughout Brazil and Europe, and she has collaborated with numerous art organizations, including the Amsterdam based If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part of Your Revolution platform.

Veridiana will be the artist is residence at Goleb throughout the months February to April, as she prepares the performance AND SO BE IT. The performance is scheduled to open as part of FLAM (Forum of Live Art Amsterdam) at Arti et Amicitiae. A week of live art taking place from Friday 15-04-2011 – Friday 22-04-2011. The performance will also preview at Goleb in early April. (Details to follow).

AND SO BE IT is a performance about the negotiations of a group of people, who attempt to stay-connected whilst moving through a mutual space. Inspired by the physicality of religious customs, the performance focuses on the representations of bodily experiences, as a structure to be exhausted through repetition.
